Ghin Ghin Bridge completed in three weeks!
The ageing single-lane bridge has been replaced with a new two-lane structure that has an unlimited load-carrying capacity and a lifespan of over 100 years.
A four span integral bridge structure of 74m total length constructed from precast façade panel pier and abutment components, prestressed T-beam deck stringer beams, and a cast in place deck slab to make the complete structure monolithic for resistance to potential overtopping flood flows.
The replacement bridge was opened to public traffic within 3 weeks of a total closure subsequent to piling carried out under traffic control.
